Peeter, known simply as Pets among friends, is a man whose life is deeply connected to nature and hunting. For over 25 years, hunting has been his passion and hobby, growing into a wealth of knowledge and a deep respect for nature. Throughout his long career as a hunter, he has become a respected and experienced outdoorsman, known for always having an exciting and authentic story to share.

Guests who visit the Hunting Lodge will meet a host who is friendly and welcoming, with engaging stories about nature and hunting. Among friends, he is especially valued for his storytelling skills – his tales, collected over decades, are shared in a way that makes every conversation memorable.

For Peeter, the lodge is his home, which he is happy to share with those who appreciate peace and quiet in a beautiful natural setting.

The Creation of the Hunting Lodge

The story of the Hunting Lodge began more than 15 years ago, when he decided to restore his ancestral farm. Over time, the old farm buildings – the barn, granary, and main house – had been worn down, making restoration impractical.

Seeing an opportunity to create something new, he envisioned a place that blended modern comfort with a cozy, rustic charm, where his family and friends could stay.

The first step was to remove the old buildings, but he did not want to lose the history and character of the place. So, he built the new structures in the exact locations where the old buildings once stood.

The granary became the sauna, the shed was transformed into the Hunting Lodge, and the main house was replaced with a new home. A completely new structure was also added — a covered gathering space that Peeter and his family fondly call the Tavern.

It all started with a simple wish

to create a place to live, relax, and enjoy nature – a place that brings together tradition and modern comfort.

Hunting Lodge – A Nature Retreat and an Experience in Itself

Originally, the Hunting Lodge was not intended as public accommodation. It was a private retreat for Peeter’s family and close friends, who valued the peaceful surroundings and breathtaking views of Lahemaa’s nature.

As friends and family kept returning, drawn to the lodge’s charm in every season, he realized he wanted to share this special place with a wider audience.

Staying at the Hunting Lodge is an experience in itself. Beyond its stunning natural setting, it serves as a perfect base for those who want to explore Lahemaa National Park, its hiking trails, beaches, and historic manors.

Over time, this led to the creation of Peeter’s Hunting Lodge – a place where guests can immerse themselves in his world, one that is filled with simple beauty and deep wisdom.

To this day, the Hunting Lodge is more than just an accommodation – it remains Peeter’s home and way of life, which he shares with those who truly appreciate it.

“We had an exceptional good time at Uuri. Peeter and his wife Öilme were very friendly, helped with everything we could wish for. The location of the house is beautiful, in the middle of the Lahemaa National Park. Although very remote, Tallinn is less than an hour‘s drive and shops for groceries are close by. ”The house is very modern, brand new and everything that you could possibly need is available. We used the internal steam sauna all the time (which is great indeed) and were even invited to use the Finnish sauna on the premises, which Peter and his wife heated up for us free of extra charge. We would come back any time and I would give 6 stars if I could. Thank you Peeter and Öilme!”

"This was our second stay. We loved the place so much last winter and decided to return and stay for a month. Cosy and warm, this house feels like home. In November sunset is early and there is nothing better than to spend these long evenings behind beatiful fireplace. We also enjoyed cooking, kitchen has everything you need. Lahemaa itself is beautiful. There are plenty of places worth to see around, like seaside, Viru raba, Lohe järv, Haara harbour, Juminda and hiking paths."
